How Ledgers-Jonesboro collects, uses, and protects the information you share with us through this website and during an engagement.

Last updated November 2026

Information we collect

When you contact us through this website, we collect the name, email address, phone number and message you submit in the contact form. We keep that information so we can respond to your inquiry and follow up about your engagement.

When you become a client, we collect the financial and tax information needed to prepare your books, payroll, and returns — including tax identification numbers, bank and account statements, payroll records, and prior-year returns, which you provide directly to our team through secure channels.

When you schedule a consultation, our booking provider collects the name, email address, and time slot you select so the appointment can be confirmed and reminders sent.

How we use your information

We use your information to deliver the services you request, respond to questions, prepare and file returns, process payroll, maintain your accounting records, and communicate with you about deadlines and your engagement.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use client financial data for marketing.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers required to do the work: accounting and payroll software platforms, our scheduling provider, and email delivery services. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.

We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or a regulator, or when necessary to prepare and file a return you have engaged us to prepare. Tax information is disclosed to the IRS and state agencies only as part of the filings you authorize.

As tax and accounting professionals, we are bound by confidentiality obligations that restrict how your information may be used and disclosed.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function and to understand which pages visitors find useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.

How we protect your information

We restrict access to client information to team members who need it to do their work, keep records in access-controlled systems, and require secure transmission for documents sent to and from our office. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take these measures seriously because our clients trust us with sensitive financial data.

How documents in the client portal are protected

Every document in the portal is attached to a single client file. Our access rules are enforced on the server, not just in the screen you see: a document can only be read by the signed-in account that the file belongs to, or by a team member of Ledgers-Jonesboro with an administrative account. Signing in with a different email does not reveal another client's documents.

Files are stored in private storage. There is no public link to any document, and nothing in the portal is indexed by search engines. Opening or downloading a document creates a signed link that expires after a few minutes, so a link that is copied, forwarded, or left in a browser history stops working shortly after it is issued.

All traffic between your browser and the portal travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the platform that hosts the portal states that stored data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

To be clear about the limit of these protections: portal documents are not end-to-end encrypted in the browser. They are protected by account access rules, private storage, expiring links, and encryption in transit and at rest, which means the hosting platform is technically able to decrypt a stored file in order to serve it to you. We therefore ask clients to send sensitive records through the portal upload rather than by email, and we restrict internal access to the team members who need it to prepare your books and returns.

How long we keep information

We retain client records for the period required by professional standards and tax authorities, generally at least seven years after the end of the engagement or the filing of the related return. Contact form inquiries that do not become engagements are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up.

Your choices

You may ask us to review, correct, or delete the contact information you submitted, and you may ask to stop receiving non-essential communications at any time. Requests can be sent to the email address below; we will honor them except where we are required to retain records by law or professional standards.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for business owners and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.
